The Beginning of Sorrows
As the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus - COVID19 continues to expand throughout the world nations and their governments are scrambling to act in the best interest of their citizens. This virus has an insatiable appetite and continues to spread it's deadly payload particularly to the most vulnerable. The most obvious question to ask is : Why in these modern times is a virus creating such mayhem? What is going on?
It is only when we look at this virus with spiritual insight that we can truly discern from where it has come and why.
The Creator God of the Bible declares:
Revelation 14:
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Every nation, kindred, tongue and people are to hear the everlasting gospel. The son of God - Jesus Christ, who created this world alongside his Father, who made the heaven above, the earth, sea and fountains of waters has now begun the hour of his judgment. He desires the worship of His created beings - humanity - you and me!
What has God got to do with the COVID-19 outbreak?
God created this world for us. The story of Creation described in Genesis is an accurate portrayal of what actually took place at the beginning of this world's history. David so aptly describes how God did it:
Psalms 33
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
At the end of the sixth day of creation God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good (Genesis 2:31)
But then the DESTROYER succeeded in deceiving Adam and Eve. Thus sin entered the world beginning Satan's evil warfare. Man had chosen him as their sovereign. He was now the ruler of the world and mankind was and still is subject to his destructive whims and fancies.
Praise God that he implemented a rescue plan and was willing to send his son to pay the price (John 3:16).
John 12
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Jesus Christ today freely offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness and mercy for sinners. The Bible delineates the gospel story - the GOOD news that despite the entrance of sin into our world - Christ has guaranteed our victory over sin. He is able to strengthen us with His spirit and empower us to conquer temptation and sin:
EPHESIANS 3
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Despite still living in a world contaminated by sin we can have peace knowing that God the Creator is in control. The only issue is that this world is in fact a war zone!
Who is this war between?
It is the war between the Creator God and his arch enemy Satan - the DESTROYER!
REVELATION 12:
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ when living on this earth as a man revealed to his disciples what would take place on the earth during this war. Key events are described by Christ in his discourse contained in the gospels:
MATTHEW 24
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
LUKE 21
11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
The COVID-19 outbreak is definitely referred to by Christ himself. It is one of numerous pestilence outbreaks that have occurred during the history of the world. When we see these events taking place we are experiencing the birth pangs or labour pains that were prophesied to take place prior to the SECOND COMING of Christ.
A critical decision needs to be made in this judgment hour by every individual on earth. That decision is - Who is your Commander? Who are you going to give your allegiance to? Will it be your Creator? The God who knows you intimately, who can read your thoughts and even paid the price for your sins by giving his only begotten son up to the cruel death on a cross in order for you to be saved?
Or will your allegiance lie with SATAN, the leader of the original angelic rebellion in the kingdom of heaven who now claims the earth as his territory and the inhabitants as his servants to do his bidding?
Your choice of leader will be revealed by your actions!
True followers of Jesus Christ will love to obey him. Christ himself stated whilst on earth:

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
In the final scenes of this earth's history God's soldiers are described as:
REVELATION 14
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
The followers of Christ will be 'obedient! His saints will love to do his bidding. It will be their highest honour to obey his commands.
God's commandments were established in eternity and given to Adam and Eve right from the beginning. Moses had the honour of receiving God's commandments directly from his hand when God saw it necessary to provide a concrete record of His law to His children that he had rescued from Egypt. They have never changed. They are still his commands today for anyone who would like to join his army and be a soldier of the cross; a messenger to the world of the free gift of salvation offered to all who will believe.
Satan the DESTROYER and who claims to be God of this world also requires allegiance. He exults in sin. He fosters disobedience in his subjects, betrayal of their Creator and wants to place his mark of ownership on all. It is he that delights in destruction, war, rebellion and evil. COVID-19's inception and prevalence has been ordained by Satan. His plan is to capture as many prisoners as he can.
The destroyers work is described thus:
"Satan works through the elements also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows. When he was suffered to afflict Job, how quickly flocks and herds, servants, houses, children, were swept away, one trouble succeeding another as in a moment. It is God that shields His creatures and hedges them in from the power of the destroyer. But the Christian world have shown contempt for the law of Jehovah, and the Lord will do just what He has declared that He would—He will withdraw His blessings from the earth and remove His protecting care from those who are rebelling against His law and teaching and forcing others to do the same. Satan has control of all whom God does not especially guard. He will favor and prosper some, in order to further his own designs; and he will bring trouble upon others and lead men to believe that it is God who is afflicting them. CH 460.2 (White, 1923)
Satan : imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast." CH 461.1 (White, 1923)

4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
Isaiah summarises why the world and it's inhabitants are suffering or languishing. They have transgressed the everlasting covenant - God' s law has been changed and broken. By choosing the DESTROYER as their commander in chief and preferring to obey him than the Creator God they are by default, Satan's subjects. It is also interesting to note that in the confusion - every house is shut up, that no man may come in. Exactly the situation we have in the COVID-19 lockdown happening around the world.
If people don't choose to follow their heavenly father and his son Jesus Christ they are placing themselves on Satan's ground.
As loitering and carelessness might rob the fugitive of his only chance for life, so delays and indifference may prove the ruin of the soul. Satan, the great adversary, is on the track of every transgressor of God's holy law, and he who does not earnestly seek shelter in the eternal refuge will fall prey to the destroyer. Satan's influence is constantly exerted upon men to distract the senses, control the mind for evil, and incite to violence and crime. He weakens the body, darkens the intellect, and debases the soul. Whenever men reject the Saviour's invitation, they are yielding themselves to Satan. Multitudes in every department in life, in the home, in business, and even in the church, are doing this today. It is because of this that violence and crime have overspread the earth, and moral darkness, like the pall of death, enshrouds the habitations of men. Through his specious temptations Satan leads men to worse and worse evils, till utter depravity and ruin are the result. The only safeguard against his power is found in the presence of Jesus. Before men and angels Satan has been revealed as man's enemy and destroyer; Christ, as man's friend and deliverer. His Spirit will develop in man all that will ennoble the character and dignify the nature. It will build man up for the glory of God in body and soul and spirit. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. He has called us “to the obtaining of the glory”—character—“of our Lord Jesus Christ;” has called us to be “conformed to the image of His Son.” 2 Thessalonians 2:14; Romans 8:29. And souls that have been degraded into instruments of Satan are still through the power of Christ transformed into messengers of righteousness, and sent forth by the Son of God to tell what “great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” DA 341.2 (White, The Desire of Ages, 1898)
Light is to shine forth from the Word of God. God calls upon His people to draw near to Him. Let no one interpose between Him and His people. Christ is knocking at the door of the heart, seeking for entrance. Will you let Him in? (White E. G., 1901)
Right now God is calling you to make a stand. He is pleading with you to accept his free gift of salvation through his son Jesus Christ. He wants to enfold you in his everlasting arms, he wants to forgive you and wash away your sins in the precious blood of His son.
Making a stand to follow God and obey His commandments is a choice that has eternal consequences. Despite the battle scars sustained on planet earth because of sin choosing to follow God means that you have promises you can claim from God's word and by believing what he has promised you can have eternal life and a multitude of blessings in your earthly life:
Psalms 103:
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
BLESSINGS FOR THE ASKING
1. He forgives ALL your iniquities.
2. He heals ALL your diseases
3. He redeems your life from destruction
4. He crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

BLESSINGS FOR THE ASKING
1. The Lord will be your refuge and fortress

God pledges Himself to bless those who obey His commandments. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 3 10-12. 6T 388.2 (White E. G., Testimonies for the Church - Volume 6, 1901)
With these words of light and truth before them, how dare men neglect so plain a duty? How dare they disobey God when obedience to His requirements means His blessing in both temporal and spiritual things, and disobedience means the curse of God? Satan is the destroyer. God cannot bless those who refuse to be faithful stewards. All He can do is to permit Satan to accomplish his destroying work. We see calamities of every kind and in every degree coming upon the earth, and why? The Lord's restraining power is not exercised. The world has disregarded the word of God. They live as though there were no God. Like the inhabitants of the Noachic world, they refuse to have any thought of God. The state of the world right now as the COVID-19 virus wreaks havoc among the nation's is chaotic. Pestilence is the handiwork of Satan the DESTROYER. The Creator God longs for his creation - his children, to believe in his word, accept the salvation he freely offers through the gift of his son Jesus Christ and be prepared to follow him and do his will by keeping his commandments. Strengthened by the ever present spirit of God you will be enabled to obey him and give him glory. He will transform your life and be your rock and fortress. He will give you peace (Psalms 29:11) and ultimately entrance into heaven (John 14: 1-3).
In the near future Biblical prophecies will continue to be fulfilled before our eyes. Pestilence is a marker of the 'beginning of sorrows' (Matthew 24: 8). The prophecies in the Bible books of Daniel and Revelation reveal the closing events of this world's history. God is gracious and has forewarned us of what will surely take place. Satan's plan to finally rule the world will come to nought. The seven trumpets of Revelation 8 and 9 will take place. These judgments of God are designed to bring the war between heaven and Satan's dissident army of fallen angels to a close. These trumpets are the final warning to those on earth. God's wrath will be poured out during the seven last plagues but the seven trumpets will blow first. FIGHTING COVID-19
God wants us to do our part too as a soldier in his army. He desires us to make wise choices when it comes to looking after our health and wellbeing.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

BLESSINGS FOR THE ASKING
1. The Lord will be your refuge and fortress
2. You will abide under the shadow of the almighty
3. He will deliver you from the noisome pestilence

6. Pestilence will not come near you or your home.
God pledges Himself to bless those who obey His commandments. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. With these words of light and truth before them, how dare men neglect so plain a duty? How dare they disobey God when obedience to His requirements means His blessing in both temporal and spiritual things, and disobedience means the curse of God? Satan is the destroyer. God cannot bless those who refuse to be faithful stewards. All He can do is to permit Satan to accomplish his destroying work. We see calamities of every kind and in every degree coming upon the earth, and why? The Lord's restraining power is not exercised. The world has disregarded the word of God. They live as though there were no God. Like the inhabitants of the Noachic world, they refuse to have any thought of God. The state of the world right now as the COVID-19 virus wreaks havoc among the nation's is chaotic. Pestilence is the handiwork of Satan the DESTROYER. The Creator God longs for his creation - his children, to believe in his word, accept the salvation he freely offers through the gift of his son Jesus Christ and be prepared to follow him and do his will by keeping his commandments. Strengthened by the ever present spirit of God you will be enabled to obey him and give him glory. He will transform your life and be your rock and fortress. He will give you peace (Psalms 29:11) and ultimately entrance into heaven (John 14: 1-3).
In the near future Biblical prophecies will continue to be fulfilled before our eyes. Pestilence is a marker of the 'beginning of sorrows' (Matthew 24: 8). The prophecies in the Bible books of Daniel and Revelation reveal the closing events of this world's history. God is gracious and has forewarned us of what will surely take place. Satan's plan to finally rule the world will come to nought. The seven trumpets of Revelation 8 and 9 will take place. These judgments of God are designed to bring the war between heaven and Satan's dissident army of fallen angels to a close. These trumpets are the final warning to those on earth. God's wrath will be poured out during the seven last plagues but the seven trumpets will blow first. FIGHTING COVID-19
God wants us to do our part too as a soldier in his army. He desires us to make wise choices when it comes to looking after our health and wellbeing.

These immunity storms are what takes place in some of those with Covid-19 as pneumonia sets in because the body is fighting the virus.
